Maffra Ag Show get the tussock talk
The VSTWP had a huge few days at the excellent Maffra Ag Show last weekend, with our community representatives Wendy Bitans and Norm Cameron showing the community some serrated tussock plants and highlgihting the impact they can have.
Wendy Bitans wrote the following regarding her experience at the VSTWP stall. “Arriving early at showgrounds venue, on Friday afternoon, we met in showgrounds. Norm advised that shed wasn’t ready, so we arrived early on Saturday morning, helped to carry out lumber, then set up our stall. Weather was a disappointment to show organizers and attendees and the hail and rain would have deterred many from attending this year.
However, a steady trickle of people came past all day, and our shed hosted wood workers with free give-away toys, as well as photos and children’s art work.
Several enquirers were very pleased to talk with us and take away brochures etc. Norm spoke to many locals and indicated to some that he would go past their sites and check if queries are indeed serrated tussock!”
Next up is the Whittlesea Show this weekend, come and say hello and find out the latest on Serrated tussock management and advice.
A big thanks to Wendy and Norm for volunteering their time to attend this important event.
