Grow West Community Planting Day 2026: Sun, 19 Jul, 9:30am – 4pm AEST
Our friends and project partners at Grow West have their Community Planting Day planned next month. Grow West has played a big role in preventing the spread of Serrated tussock across the landscape.
Come along and help restore the landscape and improve local habitat. Join dedicated volunteers meeting on Wurundjeri Country to plant 3,500 indigenous seedlings, help assemble and install tree guards and water the plants.
What to bring:
- Sturdy footwear. warm clothes, waterproof jacket and hat.
- Gardening Gloves, there will be some to purchase on the day if you need them.
- To minimise waste, please bring a water bottle (filling stations will be provided), cup, plate and cutlery for lunch.
Catering:
- Morning tea will be provided at the planting sites. If you would like a hot drink in the morning, please try one of the great cafes in Bacchus Marsh of bring a thermos. Hot drinks will be served at lunch and afternoon tea.
- Lunch will be catered by the Bacchus Marsh Lions Club, providing soup and a bbq lunch, and followed by afternoon tea of home-made slices. Please provide any dietary requirements in the registration form.
Parking:
- There is limited parking at the planting site. If the Summit carpark becomes full, we will direct you to overflow parking at Telford Park, Darley (a 7- minute drive away). Car transport will be provided from this site to the planting site. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants who will direct you on the day.
Arrival:
- Please check in at the registration desk and you will be allocated to your planting team.
